This is the first book I have read by this author. Historical fiction with adventure, pirates, and a bit of fantasy but not overwhelmingly so. I enjoyed that the protagonist was a retired Muslim woman and that the story broke out of the traditional (often misogynistic) pirate story mold. Will definitely check out the next book in the trilogy when it is released!
