I can’t remember what list I saw this book on that prompted me to put it on hold at the library. When I checked it out, I was under the impression that it was going to be a whimsical coming of age story. I wasn’t expecting it to be without conflict, but I did not know it was going to go to such dark places. Some of it was difficult to listen to, but I read a review that said a lot of it was biographical. If that is true, then I am glad the author was able to share her story and I hope it helped her heal.
