WooLee Winder Woohoo!
In my attempt to blog more I am trying to do "Work in Progress Wednesdays" and "Finished Object Fridays." We shall see if my schedule actually allows me to have something to show on Fridays or not... Maybe I can cheat and feature some of Bill's stuff? Shhhh, don't tell him!
Anyway... I don't think I mentioned that I got a WooLee Winder for my birthday! This is something I've wanted for my wheel for a long time, probably since I got the wheel, but it was an extravagance that I just wasn't willing to buy for myself. I was delighted when Bill and my Mom thought going in together on it would be a good birthday gift idea. The day I picked it up at the post office I drove right up to the studio to try it out.
My finished object for this Friday is my first handspun made using it. I am very happy with how it came out. The WooLee Winder certainly seems to help me with spin a more constant weight yarn, and get it done at a fast rate (which might just be because I was excited to use!).
Ok, here it is! 8 oz of Fibers 4 Ewe (Putman, CT) Mill Ends in various shades of blues, teals, purples, and a tiny touch of shimmer. Ended up as two skeins that are each around 136 yards.
